The Daily Mail Chalke Valley History Festival is being held in Ebbesbourne Wake,
about 12 miles south-west of Salisbury in Wiltshire.

FREE CAR PARKING AT THE FESTIVAL SITE

No children will be allowed into the event site unless accompanied by an adult or within a school or college group; this means anyone under 16 years of age. There will be a clearly demarcated Lost Child Point in the Ticket & Information Tent.

Sorry but NO DOGS ALLOWED ON SITE AT THE FESTIVAL

BY TRAIN

The two nearest train stations are Salisbury (12 miles) and Tisbury (6 miles),
on main London Waterloo – Exeter line.

BY CAR


From the east:
take the M3 and A303 from London. From Salisbury take the A354 Blandford Road, and turn right at the first round-about 10 miles south-west of Salisbury to Sixpenny Handley. Take the first right once reaching the village and remain on this road for 2.5 miles. Once through an avenue of beech trees turn left to Ebbesbourne Wake and follow sign-posted directions.


From the west (Shaftesbury)
: take the A30 to Shaftesbury, then the B3081 to Sixpenny Handley, then turn left on the far side of the village and remain on this road for 2.5 miles. Once through an avenue of beech trees turn left to Ebbesbourne Wake and follow sign-posted directions.

From the south-west: (Blandford & Dorchester): take the A354 towards Salisbury, and turn left at the first round-about 10 miles east of Blandford to Sixpenny Handley. Take the first right once reaching the village and remain on this road for 2.5 miles. Once through an avenue of beech trees turn left to Ebbesbourne Wake and follow sign-posted directions.

A couple of fields away from the festival sits Elcombe Copse, where you’ll find a beautiful and peaceful spot to pitch a tent or stay in a delightfully furnished Shepherd’s Hut or Bell Tent. The campsite features a lovely woodsman’s cabin with hot running water for cooking and showering, a double hob gas burner and two indoor showers and loos.

A number of pitches have been reserved exclusively for visitors to DMCVHF 2013 and special rates are as follows:
Shepherd’s Huts - Sleeps 2 (double), £70 per night, 3 night minimum stay
Bell Tent - Sleeps up to 6 in any configuration, £70 per night, 3 night minimum stay
Your own Tent - £15 per person per night
Camper Vans – £15 per person per night.
Those taking a Shepherd’s Hut or Bell Tent receive a 50% discount on the price of bringing your own extra tent(s)
